The CUES Podcast Episode 54 show notes

How do you define branding?

Taylor Wells, communications director at On the Mark Strategies and one of the instructors at CUES School of Strategic Marketing™, says this: “Branding is who you are. What your credit union is. Who you serve. What you do well …. Branding is really the cultural DNA of your credit union.”

Wells was recently a guest on the CUES Podcast episode 54; we spoke about why your brand is much bigger than your logo, corporate colors and tagline.

“It’s much more cultural than it is collateral,” he adds. “That means that each employee needs to live the brand with each other internally and with external members as well.”

Some highlights from my interview with Taylor include:

  1. understanding common brand misconceptions and how to avoid them; and
  2. how to overcome brand gaps.
